How to Register Your Trucking Company Through FMCSA Motus

FMCSA now provides Motus as its modernized registration system for USDOT Numbers, operating authority, registration updates, and other applicable FMCSA registration actions. The process starts with a personal user profile, identity verification, and a company account. Official portal: https://www.fmcsa.dot.gov/registration

Create your user profile. Create your personal profile and complete the required identity verification and Login.gov authentication.
Create or claim your company account. Create a company account or claim an existing USDOT registration when the system provides that option.
Determine your registration requirements. Use the FMCSA registration guidance and USDOT Wizard to determine which registrations apply to your operation.
Submit the applicable registration. Submit the applicable USDOT Number, operating authority, or other registration request through Motus.
Monitor the registration status. Use your Motus account to track registration actions, requests, and applicable status changes.
